Evan Brown is a guitarist, songwriter and cartoonist. As a member of the band Shaimus his guitar playing has been featured in video games (“All Of This” on Guitar Hero, “Like a Fool” on Rock Band 2), TV shows (One Tree Hill, Ruby and the Rockits), and the 2011 film The Roommate, where he even made an Oscar-worthy onscreen appearance as “Band Member.” (The film debuted as the #1 movie in America, most likely due to his slightly out-of-focus performance.) As a freelance guitarist he has played with Arielle Verinis (including a performance at the Long Beach Blues Festival), Jules Larson, and many others.
Evan’s other musical projects include songwriting and composing, with influences ranging from Eric Clapton to Elliott Smith. His instrumental guitar version of the Eagles Fight Song became a regular feature in his hometown of Philadelphia’s popular Preston & Steve morning show on WMMR. He created several presets that are included with Line 6′s POD Farm 2 software, and he also likes to have a little fun whenever possible, as evidenced by his song “Oh Veronica” (written for the video How to Write a Love Song).
Outside of music, Evan draws Of The Fittest, a webcomic featuring a self-aware dinosaur dealing with his impending demise by passing his wisdom on to the inferior species (homo sapien) that will inherit the Earth. He also writes his thoughts on life as a West Coast creative in his blog.
Evan is endorsed by Music Man guitars. He lives in Los Angeles where he enjoys throwing a frisbee on the beach, reading non-fiction books, watching baseball and football, and attempting in vain to maintain a reasonable tan.
